This page contains instructions for employees responsible for ekvv maintenance on how to enter subject assignments for courses. Only colleagues with ekvv input rights can set subject assignments. A detailed description of the individual input fields and click paths is displayed directly on the input page in the ekvv when the "Open support" button is clicked.
By entering subject assignments, courses are added to the ekvv and assigned to modules. Modules are filled with courses through the subject assignments and these courses are then displayed in every degree programme in which this module is included. The purpose of the subject assignments is to determine what purpose a specific course fulfils in a module and what type of credit is provided there.
The subject assignments in the ekvv regulate how teaching staff, instructors, lecturers report credits in the ekvv: Only those credit types that are linked to a specific course via the subject assignments can be reported there.
FsBs (subject-specific regulations) are the rules that apply to a particular degree programme and specify which modules must be completed in order to graduate. FsBs always have a validity date that specifies which students these rules apply to. With regard to the subject assignments in the ekvv, an FsB is always a collection of modules.
When processing subject assignments, FsBs are always something like headings under which modules can be found.
Staff, people with ekvv input rights are granted rights to certain FsBs. In addition to creating courses, this right also allows you to include courses from other Faculties in your own course programme by assigning them to your own FsB. This assignment is always made by agreement between the subjects and can be used, for example, for interdisciplinary courses offered.
To set subject assignments, first select an FsB to find the modules you are looking for. If an FsB has been selected, the ekvv displays all lower levels (if these are provided for in the study regulations). This creates a structure with the following levels:
FSB:
This structure is only used to find modules, as it is always a matter of assigning ekvv courses to modules when setting subject assignments. If modules occur in several FsBs, the courses included there are always displayed in all contexts in which the module occurs. It is therefore not necessary to call up all these FsBs individually and assign the course to the module there, but the system automatically adds the course to all modules.
For the selection of module elements, courses and the academic achievements provided in the course are offered for selection together. This link is very important for students and teaching staff, instructors:
There are also model events in which no service registration is planned. These appear in the subject assignment tree without a service (no red seal in the display). On the other hand, there are academic achievements that are not planned for a course reference. These academic achievements stand alone in the subject assignment tree, but can still be assigned to a business event in the ekvv. The academic achievement is then assigned to the ekvv course in which the academic achievement is organisationally located and in which the teaching staff, instructors, lecturers accept the academic achievement.
Subject assignments for existing courses can be added at any time, for example if it becomes clear during course planning that a course is to be opened for several modules or module elements. When correcting subject assignments that have already been entered, it is important to know that only explicitly opened subject assignments can be cancelled; the implicit assignments (i.e. the completed checkboxes) cannot be removed. They disappear automatically when the explicit opening is removed.
When searching for the explicit opening, it helps to display the subject assignments that have already been entered: A small "edit" button is displayed for the FsB from which the assignment comes. If you do not have the necessary rights to remove the subject assignment yourself, please contact the colleagues who are responsible for maintaining the kvv in this area. The contact details are displayed when you click on the link "Corrections? Persons to contact" in the detailed view of the event.
FsBs and modules can "expire" if there is a new version of the degree programme or module. These expiring courses are marked accordingly in the ekvv.
In order to assess whether courses still have to be offered for an expiring programme, you will find so-called "transitional provisions" in the study information pages, which regulate how long students may remain in a particular FsB and/or from when they must either graduate or switch to another FsB. You can find these transitional provisions by following the link (marked with a blue "i"), which is displayed at the top of the subject assignment tree for each FsB or for the subject assignments already entered.
If a module is used in different FsBs, an ekvv event that has been assigned once is automatically displayed in all FsBs in which this module is used. The subject assignments in the ekvv are therefore only set once.
However, it is also possible for an ekvv event to have several module assignments. In this case, it is important to ensure that the different competences described in the module descriptions can be covered within a course and that it is possible for the teaching staff, instructors, lecturers to accept the academic achievements.
The following cases are possible:
